Jim Ryan Adds New Features to Premium Plan After PS Plus Price Hike Backlash

Head of Sony, Jim Ryan announced at a Sony Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday the plan to increase prices on Playstation Plus plans by upwards of 35%. This bold move came after hearing of the news that Playstation and Xbox online subscriptions had plateaued. The most logical move to recapture the hearts and minds of Playstation owners would be to give the online service a healthy price hike which would certainly regain traction for the company. Champagne was popped and poured by Phil and the gang as the plan was implemented. Jim Ryan raised a glass and addressed the room.

“This is our way of thanking the loyal fans of our products and brand. We let them part with more of their hard earned cash and we don’t give them anything extra. Everybody wins!” The room cheered and applauded as Jim Ryan sat down to a big bowl of haggis, because he’s Scottish and they eat that by the bowl full.

Days after the decision to send the prices up as high as Jim Ryan’s confidence, 80% of PS Plus accounts have been cancelled without renewal. Jim Ryan’s plan to help everybody appears to have backfired with consumers preferring to keep their own money when offered nothing extra in return.

Following this Ryan has announced the new and improved Premium plan adding in new benefits.

“It seems like PS Plus owners are missing the heart and soul of Playstation, which, is me. That’s why, from today I’ll be adding in the Jim Channel to the Premium Plan. This will include all my insightful interviews, my cooking with Jim videos filmed by my dear wife and all the bloopers and outtakes from when things got wild and crazy at the last Showcase! Once I start playing games I will work on my top 100 list for users to peruse. On top of all this each new subscriber will get a bag of homemade haggis sent directly to their door.”

Following this announcement subscriptions have skyrocketed due to Ryan’s ability to win the crowd over with his warm and outrageously charismatic oration.
